Institution for Savings Donates $50,000 to Pentucket Education Foundation
to Update High School Science Equipment

The Institution for Savings, through its Charitable Foundation, recently donated $50,000 to the Pentucket Education Foundation to help fund much-needed upgrades to the science equipment at Pentucket Regional High School (PRHS), announced Institution for Savings President/CEO Michael J. Jones.
“We are so thankful to the Institution for Savings for this very generous grant to provide much needed science equipment for our high school, said Anna Marie Beech, president of the Pentucket Education Foundation. “This equipment will go a long way as every year we see tremendous budget cuts to the technology line item and would not be able to improve without the support of partners such as the Institution for Savings.”
This is the largest single donation that the PEF has received, said Ms. Beech. According to PRHS Science Department head Amy Deacon, the donation will be used to purchase advanced data logging, biotechnology and microbiology equipment that will engage students using 21st century technology.
“The high school staff and students are so very grateful and honored to receive this donation from the Pentucket Education Foundation and the Institution for Savings,” said  Jonathan Seymour, PRHS Principal. “At a time when budget reductions are the norm, this will allow the purchase of exciting science equipment giving students the chance to use real world tools to investigate and solve scientific problems. “
“Our vision at the Institution for Savings is simple:  to positively affect the lives of every person, business and organization within the communities we serve,” said Mr. Jones.  “By supporting Pentucket in this way we are helping not just today’s students but tomorrow’s entrepreneurs, scientists, leaders and the community as well.  It is a great  use of our charitable dollars.”

Mission

The Pentucket Education Foundation is an independent, non-profit organization committed to promoting excellence in education within the Pentucket Regional School District.
The Foundation serves all 6 schools within the Pentucket Regional School District, located in the Towns of Groveland, Merrimac and West Newbury, Massachusetts.  The foundation is comprised of a Board of Directors, committees and volunteers of enthusiastic parents, community members, educators and local business leaders who all share an interest in helping to enhance the educational experience of all students in the Pentucket Regional School District.  The Board of Directors determines the strategic direction for the use of monies raised in philanthropic efforts of the foundation.  A Needs Assessment Committee conducts assessment analysis throughout the District to determine where our Foundation can have the most positive impact for our students.  The Foundation remains an independent body from the School Administration but works in close collaboration with them.
The Foundation promotes Excellence in Education by raising money through grants, events and donations to fund initiatives that make a difference in the education children receive across the District.
